Wonder Book Review

This book is great! It really teaches a lesson on anti-bullying, and being true to yourself. Enjoy this review!

Title: Wonder

Author: R.J. Palacio

Summary: August (Auggie) Pullman was born with a bad cleft palate on his face, leaving him not looking like most kids. Auggie had been homeschooled by his mom his whole life, until his parents made him go to public school when he started 5th Grade. Auggie began to be bullied by a kid named Julian. His one and only friend, Jack Will had stuck up for him in the beginning, but as time went on, they fought and drifted apart. What will happen to their friendship? How will Auggie survive the year without his only friend? Read Wonder to find out...

Favorite Part: My favorite part of the book is when Summer comes to eat lunch with Auggie when he was all alone. I liked this part because it was nice for Auggie to have a new friend show compassion to him.

Genre: The genre of this book is children's literature. This is the genre because the book was written as entertainment for young adults.

Rating: Storyline & Plot: 5/5, Excitement:4.5/5, Humor: 3/5, Characters, 5/5, Overall: 4.4/5

Recommendation: I would recommend this book to people who enjoy inspirational and theatric books. I personally love this book because the story is so captivating and generally great.

Title: The War That Saved My Life

Author: Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

Summary: Ada was born with a crippled foot, of which her mother hates. Ada's mother is ashamed of her, so her and her brother have unequal privileges. When wartime comes, Jamie, Ada's brother, gets shipped off for safety, but Ada does not. She sneaks away with Jamie and ends up with Susan Smith, who is used to only having herself to care for. How will they survive the war? Read the War That Saved My Life to find out.
